Our awesome piercing adventure at Nomad Piercing Studio

Last month our little bug turned 9 and decided she was ready to have her ears pierced.

Our personal approach to deciding to allow her ears pierced was to ensure that she was ready to take on the responsibility that comes with permanently altering your body, specifically the health and cleanliness issue's in this case.
After many family discussions, we all felt that the responsibility that comes with piercing one's ears was one that we could all handle.

Ear piercing is a global tradition but is still a form of permanent body modification and we wanted to find the best and safest place to go to.

We had heard so many amazing things about our neighbor Blake at Nomad's piercing studio and after researching all the possible path's we all agreed that Nomad's was indeed the best place for us. Blake has pierced over 10,000 children, and his web site was filled with really insightful information about his process versus the typical "mall piercing" route.

As a Dad Blake reminded us that he understands that parents always want the best for their kids, and as a piercer her has extremely high safety and quality standards.

His adorable children are often in the shop with him, learning the family business.
We are fortunate to get visits from them down here at Aster & Bee too!!

Nomad studio's is clean and comforting, his process was quick and pain free and his earrings are the highest quality and far exceed anything I saw elsewhere for children.

Just before we left Aster & Bee to had next door to Nomad's. Bug was feeling excited and nervous.

Prior to going in, we looked at Nomad's web-site together and we read all about his philosophy and process. Having some information before going in really provided comfort for her.

Blake used a pen to mark the placement of the earrings. At this point she is anxious, but mostly excited!

"OH...WOW...that's it? Seriously"
bugs EXACT words!
Needle in, hoop in...10 seconds max. It was quick and easy!!

BIG SMILES...
she's so excited, he's placing the hoops and she is giddy with happiness!!

The actual piercing took under 3 minutes, but Blake took his time to answer all the questions bug had about aftercare.
Blake is a dad of three and is so great with the children.
He addressed all her concerns and comforted her immensely!

That's it!! All done, and she was ready to smile for the camera with Blake!

It was such a great experience!

As parents we had the benefit of knowing everything that touched our child's ear was sterile and the best quality available!
As a child, our bug said...
"I'm super surprised that it didn't even hurt!"
 "Blake is really cool!"
"I cannot believe I just did that!!"
"SO awesome!"

We walked out very happy while our bug practically skipped out smiling and laughing, and we got to show our support to local business!
